The wall and the training phone carry the rules that bypass the rating. Get these wrong and the shift ends even if Service Quality was still high.
Three instant protocols
| What you see | Do this | Do not do this |
|---|---|---|
| A clown at the window asking for the usual | Serve spicy broth and cooked noodles with no toppings. Leave the window open. | Do not deny him, do not add eggs, meat, tofu, or green onions, and do not close the shutter. A wrong response is described as killing everyone on the shift. |
| A tall, dark woman standing in the street | Look away. Use the phone on the counter and call the Anomaly Control Unit. Stay inside until dispatch says the anomaly status is cleared. | Do not stare at her and do not go out to meet her. Looking is described as letting her attack. |
| Interior lights turning red and flickering | Drop the order and leave through the nearest door. Wait outside until the lights are normal, then go back to work. | Do not stay in the kitchen. Staying inside is described as a kill. |
The phone exchange heard in shifts is consistent: the unit asks if you need their services, you report the tall woman in front of the store, they tell you to stay inside and not interact, and they later report the status cleared.
The rating rule
Denying a real customer or serving an anomalous customer lowers Service Quality. Guides describe the meter opening at 100% (shown as A+) and falling through lower letter grades until F at 0%. The points removed by one mistake are not published, so do not plan around a guessed penalty.
At 0% the reported result is immediate termination: "Status: employee fired and neutralized," plus the Dead Ending badge.
Other interruptions that are not instant kills
- Power loss: the prompt says to repair the electric box out back. Use the rear exit, interact with the breaker, and return. Cooking stops until the power is back. Ignoring it is a stall, not a listed instant kill.
- Ingredient shortage: restock from the back room. See Serve a correct bowl.
- The 350 cash coin toss from the casino customer is optional. Heads is described as doubling the wager and tails as taking it. The coin is not documented as a fair 50% flip, so treat it as a cash risk, not a survival rule.
After the last required customer, with the rating still above 0%, cross to the bus stop and board. That is the Survived Ending, separate from merely not dying mid-shift. Badge differences are in Endings and badges.
